The Wesley Center at First United Methodist Church of Clermont was built in 2009 on the former tiered parking lot of the Wesley Christian Academy, with a spacious new parking area on the former hospital property. Built under the leadership of Rev. Doug Kokx, the building accommodates a fast-growing congregation dedicated to serving their immediate community in the name of Christ. The congregation’s numerous community service and outreach activities have intentional religious components. When the foundation of the Wesley Center was poured, church members, friends and well-wishers, placed thousands of written prayers under what would become the main floor of the building. Having the Wesley Center has made a tremendous difference in the lives of individuals by connecting with God through Jesus Christ.
Every Sunday at 9:30 am and 11:11am, the Wesley Center welcomes the community to a contemporary worship service with a live praise band. Two traditional services with our chancel choir are held in the Sanctuary at 8:00 and 11:00 am. Every Thursday at 7pm, our Celebrate Recovery service takes place in the Sanctuary. Occasionally, the Church will hold one main service for the entire congregation to celebrate together, and these special services are held in the Wesley Center.
Every Wednesday at 5 pm, the community is invited for a freshly prepared Wednesday Night Dinner served buffet style in the Wesley Center. Meals on Wheels is a food delivery program that is offered through the Food Ministry at the First United Methodist Church. Fresh meals are prepared Monday through Friday in the Wesley Center and delivered to those in need.
